House, Camp Erdman and Palama Settlement were meaningful local projects made possible with your gifts, since 2003 over 30 international projects involved over 500 volunteers through more than $800,000.00 of your funding. Your compassionate support of our Rotary mission is essential. The campaign ends on May 15, 2024, to fulfill funding your previous pledge … and/or pledging to be one our valued donors.
I am energized by the new energy we are inviting to Rotary. And when we spend time chatting with new members like Rhena Singh, we see the future of our organization, our community, and professional progress blooming.
On Saturday, April 6, the Eco Rotary Club of Kakaako was one of the organizations that supported the Genki Ala Wai Project by tossing hundreds of Genki balls into the Ala Wai canal. Since 2019, the nonprofit Project has attracted community partners to help in its efforts to restore the polluted canal. The Genki balls are made from a particular mix of bacteria, clay soil, rice bran, molasses and water. The bacteria is activated after the balls are embedded in the canal floor. The Project estimates the Ala Wai will be swimmable and fishable by 2026 with continued community support. Improvements in the water quality are already evident. Various types of fish, and even a monk seal, have been spotted in the canal. - Nancy Youngren

We want to acknowledge all the contributions that our members make...big, small, on the stage, behind the scenes, time, treasure, talent.... it all matters! Tell us who you think makes a difference in our club and why! The nominations can be for silly or serious awards. The sky is the limit!

IMPORTANT UPDATES TO LUNCH REGISTRATION
We are working to make registering and attending lunch meetings easier on our members. To that end we are introducing some new changes to registration:
Register and pay online - starting with our February 27 lunch meeting, anyone registering for an event will be asked to pay with a credit card at the time of registration. This will make it easier to register by reducing the number of times you have to click. It will also reduce you wasting time standing in line waiting to pay. If you register online, just pick up your name tag, grab lunch and fellowship with other Rotarians and guests! Registration closes 24 hours before the event.
Walk-ins welcome for a fee - we welcome walk-ins and know some of you don't know if you can make it until the last minute. Please join us! But, that flexibility, convenience and privilege are not free. We will be charging $50 at the door for members and guests who do not pre-register. This will take effect starting at the March 5 lunch meeting.
Sign up for prepaid lunches - we know some of our members are tired of having to register and pay for individual lunches. We hear you! So we are offering a prepaid lunch option on a trial basis. You can sign up for $130 a month or $500 for the rest of the Rotary year. This option gives you even more freedom to attend the lunch meetings without having to hassle with online registration!
