Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.

A small group of us are heading off to participate in the Philippines service project for the next two weeks. We are building 3 new classrooms to alleviate overcrowding at the F. Ubay Memorial Elementary School in Puerto Princesa on the island of Palawan. This project is made possible by your generous donations to the Service Above Self annual campaign and significant community donations. Stay tuned for pictures and updates from the road!
2024 Eco-Rotary Genki Ball Making Fundraiser (Volunteers needed)
We have the amazing opportunity to impact the Ala Wai by making Genki Balls on March 16!
This is a fun event and a great way to meet Rotarians! (not to mention improve our home)
Eco-Rotary of Kaka’ako will be holding their third annual Genki Ball making and toss in cooperation with the Genki Ala Wai project. Last year, they threw 5000 balls, with over 200 volunteers, making it the biggest single Genki Ball drop of the year!
They are seeking volunteers and donations as part of this year’s effort. Many of our Club members joined in last year and we are looking for that amazing Volunteerism again this year!
The Ala Wai has improved dramatically since the Genki Ala Wai organization was started. WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Click the links to know how YOU can join the fun and make a positive impact!
Here is the first event on March 16 for making the balls:
Let's get together after work to celebrate and socialize!
Let's get together in the private covered garden area at the Lei Stand! No, not the one at the airport... the one located at 1115 Bethel Street in Chinatown! Heavy Pupus will be served. No Host Drinks.
The Lei Stand is a hidden gem in Honolulu's Chinatown. Behind an unassuming front door on Bethel Street,
the speakeasy-style lounge blends vintage Honolulu charm with a modern aesthetic. Join us for handcrafted cocktails, elevated bites, and a unique blend of old-school and new-school allure.
The Rotary Club of Honolulu runs on our member volunteers. We want to acknowledge all the contributions that our members make...big, small, on the stage, behind the scenes, time, treasure, talent.... it all matters! Tell us who you think makes a difference in our club and why! The nominations can be for silly or serious awards. The sky is the limit!
May 17, 2024, is the day we reveal this year's Creating Peace 'Olelo Video contest winners!
LAST DAY TO PLEDGE AND SUBMIT YOUR GIFT IS MAY 15, 2024
IMPORTANT UPDATES TO LUNCH REGISTRATION
We are working to make registering and attending lunch meetings easier on our members. To that end we are introducing some new changes to registration:
Register and pay online - starting with our February 27 lunch meeting, anyone registering for an event will be asked to pay with a credit card at the time of registration. This will make it easier to register by reducing the number of times you have to click. It will also reduce you wasting time standing in line waiting to pay. If you register online, just pick up your name tag, grab lunch and fellowship with other Rotarians and guests! Registration closes 24 hours before the event.
Walk-ins welcome for a fee - we welcome walk-ins and know some of you don't know if you can make it until the last minute. Please join us! But, that flexibility, convenience and privilege are not free. We will be charging $50 at the door for members and guests who do not pre-register. This will take effect starting at the March 5 lunch meeting.
Sign up for prepaid lunches - we know some of our members are tired of having to register and pay for individual lunches. We hear you! So we are offering a prepaid lunch option on a trial basis. You can sign up for $130 a month or $500 for the rest of the Rotary year. This option gives you even more freedom to attend the lunch meetings without having to hassle with online registration! Click here to let Lee know you are interested and for full details.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we try new things to make the Club better for everyone!
