I ask that you be mindful of those who are in need. You do not need to be a Rotarian to show compassion through acts of service to those in need. Here in the Hawaiian Islands, several islands, and several areas on those islands, have been hammered by the Kona 1 and Kona 2 storms that have come through. There is flooding beyond belief, cars underwater, roads crumbling, landslides, and people and animals suffering. I saw a video shared by a wonderful club member that showed compassion in action. A group of people, mostly men, with a tractor bucket, help rescue a 98-year-old woman from their flooded home. Service in Action = Love. Yes, I teared up. Not all of us can do the physical "lifting" but we can help in other ways. Check your local Rotary and community service groups to see where you might be able to help others or receive help if you are in need.
