On behalf of Scouting America, Aloha Council, I’m reaching out to invite the various rotary clubs on Oahu to support a meaningful community service opportunity following Memorial Day.
On Tuesday, May 27, we will be holding the Flag and Lei Pickup at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, starting at 8:00 AM and continuing until approximately 12:00 PM or until all flags and leis have been respectfully collected. The time may vary depending on the number of volunteers.
This effort follows the Memorial Day tribute, where Scouts and volunteers honor every grave with a flag and lei. We now ask for the community’s help in carefully gathering those tributes in a dignified and respectful way.
We would be grateful for your support and welcome as many Rotarians as are able to join us. If your club is available to participate or help share this opportunity, please feel free to reach out or let us know.

Our fall international service project will be from September 21-26 (arrive no later than Sept 20 in Hue). Please refer to the map. The project is located outside of Dong Ha. We will be building playgrounds and other improvements at rural elementary schools. The work will include installing equipment sets, planting trees and plants, and making a fences and benches.
The post project will run from Sept 27-October 4 (departing October 5 from Saigon). We will start in Dong Hai and visit Hue and Hoi An.
Those wanting to attend the Kyoto Rotary Club’s anniversary celebration in Kyoto from October 7-9 will be "almost there" at the end of the post project tour.
Participation is limited to 20 due to transportation restrictions. More information, including participants’ costs, will be forthcoming.

I wanted to personally introduce myself. My name is Chris Nakea, and I serve as the Vice Chair and Public Image Officer for the Alzheimer's / Dementia Rotary Action Group (ADRAG).
At ADRAG, we are working closely with Rotary clubs and communities around the world to support efforts to end Alzheimer's and to stand beside those affected by dementia. Our mission is not only to raise awareness but also to provide meaningful ways for Rotarians to take action — right in their own communities.
One way we're doing this is through our Club Champion Advocacy Program. We are looking for passionate members from clubs like yours who would like to serve as a Club Champion. Club Champions have access to a network of resources and a global fellowship of Rotarians dedicated to educating, advocating, and addressing the growing impact Alzheimer's and dementia are having on families, communities, and the world.
If you could take a moment to share this opportunity with your members, it would mean so much. It's a wonderful way for someone in your club to make a real difference and to connect with other Rotarians who share this important calling.

Our District Conference is fast approaching. If you have not yet registered - now is the time to do so. And yes, that includes registering for our 'End Polio Now Walk to create awareness'.
We have 54 clubs in our District including Rotaract Clubs. Each club is challenged to contribute at least $1,500 toward ‘Ending Polio’. Let’s meet this challenge. We can do this.
Despite what's going on in the world today - Rotary is neither stopping nor slowing down in fulfilling the promise made to the world’s children of a polio free world.
Let's walk to show our support. Let's walk to show our commitment. Let’s walk to solidify our resolve to stay the course and keep that promise.
