As Rotarians on the whole, we like to take on opportunities to help others. The above quote is a wonderful reminder to also take care of ourselves. Our challenge is to recognize the mess within, face it, and take the opportunity, the challenge, to learn and grow. Take the risk! The reward is worth it!

March for Babies is a national walking event that supports research and programs to prevent preterm birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. It’s organized by the March of Dimes, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the health of moms and babies. The event began in 1970 as the first charitable walking event in the United States. Participants come together to raise critical funds for life-saving research, education, advocacy, and programs that benefit families across the country. You can join the movement by participating in person, virtually, or both.

Mr. Merrill was a crowd pleaser! Being here in Hawaii we definitely have challenges that the mainlanders do not! Our local FBI work with several local agencies, including our police, to take down criminals, squash illegal activities, and keep us safe!
Yes, we still have criminals and illegal activity and it was great to hear how several agencies work together for us!
The Rotary Club of Honolulu runs on our member volunteers. We want to acknowledge all the contributions that our members make...big, small, on the stage, behind the scenes, time, treasure, talent.... it all matters! Tell us who you think makes a difference in our club and why! The nominations can be for silly or serious awards. The sky is the limit!
Beginning May 22, on-site parking will only be available for Outrigger members and their registered cars (decaled), and unfortunately, guest parking will not be an option. At this time, there is not an estimated date on when parking restrictions will be lifted.
To ensure everyone's experience remains smooth and stress-free, it is recommended to explore alternative transportation options and inform any guests accordingly. Options such as Uber, carpooling with other attendees, or parking along nearby streets can help alleviate any potential challenges caused by the limited on-site parking.
Alternate Parking: There is usually ample parking around Kapiolani Park on Kalākaua Avenue at only 25 cents per half hour (coin meters - so bring quarters!) For those who can walk a little further, Jim Harrow alerted us to Paki Avenue on the mauka side of the park that has free parking with no time limit.
Please let President Joanna know if you have mobility issues or need assistance with parking and she will connect you with members who can provide assistance.
We are working to make registering and attending lunch meetings easier on our members. To that end we are introducing some new changes to registration:
Register and pay online - starting with our February 27 lunch meeting, anyone registering for an event will be asked to pay with a credit card at the time of registration. This will make it easier to register by reducing the number of times you have to click. It will also reduce you wasting time standing in line waiting to pay. If you register online, just pick up your name tag, grab lunch and fellowship with other Rotarians and guests! Registration closes 24 hours before the event.
Walk-ins welcome for a fee - we welcome walk-ins and know some of you don't know if you can make it until the last minute. Please join us! But, that flexibility, convenience and privilege are not free. We will be charging $50 at the door for members and guests who do not pre-register. This will take effect starting at the March 5 lunch meeting.
Sign up for prepaid lunches - we know some of our members are tired of having to register and pay for individual lunches. We hear you! So we are offering a prepaid lunch option on a trial basis. You can sign up for $130 a month or $500 for the rest of the Rotary year. This option gives you even more freedom to attend the lunch meetings without having to hassle with online registration!
