The Centennial Park Waikiki Park Care Committee Centennial Park Waikiki is a beautiful green oasis that became a reality on February 1, 2021. It was made possible through an agreement between the City & County of Honolulu, the Rotary Club of Honolulu (RCOH) and the support of the Rotary District 5000 Foundation. RCOH volunteers organized the initial planting of 200 shrubs and 5,000 ground cover plants in September 2020 with the hands-on efforts of 76 volunteer community members. While the C&C Parks Department is responsible for the upkeep of the trees and grass, the Park Care Committee is working to continue important landscape management to facilitate the health and safety of the ground cover. The Committee is seeking volunteer groups to participate in a rotating schedule of on-site landscape maintenance. Here's what we need:
It will be about 6 weeks between sessions. Stay tuned for the schedule from August to the end of the year! To help us find interested volunteers for the above, please join us for a special Zoom meeting on Thursday, July 22nd at 5PM. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87309571117?pwd=b1FkVzc4WjFVVWJFd3RDeGU4RFJHUT09 Meeting ID: 873 0957 1117 Passcode: 561865 Here's what we are going to talk about:
The Park Care Committee includes groups of volunteers of all ages. Participating is an opportunity for residents and organizations to get involved in its care andback to working in Mother Earth!
