   Doug is the Executive Director\, having started in the position in 2017
 . Prior to working for Malama Maunalua\, he spent 8 years working at the N
 ational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration partnering with communities
  looking to protect their environment and community. Doug believes that st
 rong partnerships\, community support\, and utilizing the best available i
 nformation is critical to creating sustained conservation and management s
 uccess. When he isn’t working\, he spends time hiking\, diving\, beachin
 g\, and trying to burn off his dog’s energy\, which is a full time job u
 nto itself. Doug holds a Juris Doctor\, Masters of Urban Planning\, and a 
 Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies\, all from the University of Kan
