International Service

 The Rotary Club of Honolulu is committed to making a difference in communities throughout the world. For more information on the Club's Philippines project for 2013 click on the link to the left. 

                   Philippines 2002-2013

 For the past eleven years, the Rotary Club of Honolulu has visited the Philippines and carried out significant service projects.  These projects have involved Rotaract students from Chaminade University the YMCA, friends, spouses and  our partners in the Philippines.  To date the Rotary Club of Honolulu along with our partners have invested over $706,000 in the projects in the Philippines.

The hands on construction projects have included:

  • 7 projects for school repairs and improvements
  • Building a dormitory and clinic improvements for deaf children
  • Improvements for a social service training center 
  • Building a shelter for street kids
  • Housing for mud slide victims  
  • Agricultural productivity center
  • Skills workshop for juvenile offenders
  • School computer skills center
  • YMCA camp facilities
Our matching grant projects have included:
  • 3 mobile clinics with medical equipment and supplies
  • 2 sets of computers for OSY in conflict areas
  • Skills training equipment for juvenile offenders
  • School furniture and equipment
Participants in the hands-on projects in the Philippines include the following:
